Default Map Project 5! (Updated in case you didn't notice)

Huzzah. Thanks to some [very] quick responses on the part of [everyone] some observant players, I was able to update [fix] the map again!

Updated: [Fixed:]
"The Fall" has been renamed [to its REAL name]
And split [the two areas it actually was]
It is now "The Falls" [Obvious] and "Reed Bog" [Not so obvious].
Also a small bit was added to Reed Bog.

The links, as usual.

Past Ascalon Unlabeled Map!

Old Post is Below.

Update! Time to bring back the list.

Updated (Overworld map):
Ventari's Dell is now Ventari's Refuge
Ooglemoor's Overlook is now Druid's Overlook
Lornar's Pass is now Beacon's Perch
Anvil Rock is now Ice Tooth Cave
New area! YAyyyyyy! "The Fall"

Keep exploring, guys

KaBLAM! Update!
I've been working non-stop on Past Ascalon, and the results are obvious: Check out the new, improved, and probably complete map of past ascalon!

I've also created a "portal icon" for the labeled map and stuck it where the portals are. Makes things much easier to see andisn't as ugly as those blue lines were.

The next step will be to work on the changes to the overall world map.

Old Post is Below.
----------------

First update! This time I'm introducing the new "Past Ascalon" Map. I'm in the process of mapping it right now, so feel free to use it or contribute to it.

I'll be needing a few people to help explore the northern and southern areas, so if anyone's interested whisper Menuras Duran in-game.

Old Post is Below.
--------------
Badda-boom! The people in the Guru IRC channel say I should post it here, so here I am!

...

*copy-pastes from the other map topics :P*

It's that time again! I wrote this early because, to be honest, I would rather be playing Guild Wars when the BWE starts up then writing this post :P

Rules are as usual: Map new areas, send the pics to me via html or PM me for my e-mail address. I'll add them to our super duper map until we've got the most complete thing around. Contribute a screenshot that I end up using and you'll be added to the (increasingly large) credits bar.

I'll be reinstating version numbers this time so that 1: You'll know when the map is updated and 2: Citizen over at TGH can tell when he needs to update. I'll start at 1.0 with the first actual update and go up from there.

In case you haven't noticed, citizen put together a fun little flash version of the map for those of you unfortunate enough to lack photoshop :P It will, of course, be linked along with the labeled and unlabeled maps.

Unlabeled Map!

Labeled Map!

Flash Map!

As before, I'll be keeping filenames the same this time around to avoid dead linkage. Remember to refresh the map if you don't see the updates!

Now get mapping! :P

Wow, that didn't take you long! Nice job. Your maps are an invaluable tool, and I hope the community appreciates them as much as I do. Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for the work

What I like most with this map is that it tells the explorable area names along with how they're connected, and doesn't just stop at the outpost names.

I notice Beetletun is still called Watchtower Coast on the map. Alas, I didn't think to snap a screenshot with the new name...

Thanks, everyone.

Updated:
ALL blue portal lines have been replaced with the portal graphics I created which are much more obvious. Prettier, too. :P
Watchtower Coast outpost is now Beetletun.
Forest of True Sight is now Talmark Wilderness.
Giant Falls is now Tears of the Fallen.
Little teeny bits added by me to The Falls.
And,
I'd like to give a special thanks to SeriousWorm, for sending a screenshot of such perfect resolution and shineyness (Read: I didn't have to resize it) that it allowed me to quickly and easily update the rather-in-need-of-updating center areas near Beetletun and the Temple of the Ages, which is now much cleaner and more accurate and stuff.

Links are as usual: Check the first post for them and make sure to refresh if nessecary.

That was stellar!!! I'm impressed. Its nice to know where certain things are since I didn't have a clue on some of them (the ones I could reach with my level character at least) during the last BWE. Now I can sort of see where I need to go in order to reach certain places.

I was looking for and asking for directions all weekend to get to Serenity Temple! If only you'd told me then...

Major props bro! Thanks for the "know how" and "where to" guide!

Do I even need to say it. Great work

Makes it so much easier to find stuff, I use it all the time when I need to find outposts I haven't been to, to get missing skills.

Great job with the new map! superb work.

I think I noticed two problems: Kessex peak is the black curtain now (at least that's what the sign said, but I couldn't get there because the bridge was broken)

And Talmark Wilderness is actually Talmark Forest, I think. (I might have a better map of it too, let me check)

Kessex peak was closed off months ago, so the sign as has the same name as the area it's in. I'm going to keep it Kessex Peak until we can get back in there and find out if the name really has been changed.

Thumbs up

Just wish to thank you too for the great job. This is a lot of work and it will be useful to many people. It helped me to find another path to reach Captain Greyhind ( I was unable to complete the Merchant's Plea quest because of all those Charr )
Thank you very much!

Yeah, they really bumped up the number of those Tengu guys... wow... I ran past them ALL with 4 Henchmen and a little help from my friend Escape (the skill). As long as your little "halo" on the map (the white/grey circle around your blip) is not touching them, they couldn't see you. Not sure if all enemies are the same, but those ones were... so it took MANY tries and some luck, but I ran past them and on to Captain Greywind and beyond.

Shrapnel, next time you want to go to captain Greyhind, when you reach the ascalon settlement sign (wich point the left path), take the right path instead. This one is very easy to make with henchmen and leads to Greyhind too.

Sorry for the out of thread post...

AM i correct that the map only shows beta event territory and the retail map may be bigger or is this it and the idea will be to fill in the blank territory and have them add more content to what we see?

Well, there's a lot of the map that can't be explored right now and I assume that this will be remedied by the Full Release. There's a huge desert below Ascalon where the Tomb of Primevil Kings sits... and that's unaccessible right now. There's a lake just Northwest of Bloodstone Fen... and plenty of other uncovered areas that I hope will be in the release.

We'll just have to wait and see, but for the most part, I imagine, the current map SIZE will remain the same.
